In what has become industry leading, the incorporation of our Patented improved tight turning radius design, Heartland offered a 5th wheel that could be easily towed by the popular short-bed, extended-cab truck. This was ground-breaking, because while these trucks were very popular (allowing the owner to park in the garage or at any restaurant), the truck design resulted in significant problems when cornering with a 5th wheel attached to them. People pulling fifth wheels with these types of short-bed trucks were often hitting the cab of the truck.
Heartland focuses on the next generation engineering. Our patented improved turning radius, universal docking centers and unmatched storage are testaments to our innovation. We are never content to rest on past achievements and continually search for creative solutions to customer desires and market challenges by developing better components for overall quality and safety.
Another Heartland innovation was the Universal Docking Center (UDC) - a compartment that holds all of the major hook-ups for 5th wheel models. City Water, TV, Phone, Satellite, Pull handles for holding tanks, and Tank Flush Hookups can all be found in one place. Until Heartland transformed the design, this feature could only be found on expensive motor homes.
Heartland has become known for our large, drop-frame exterior storage compartment that is completely free of plumbing and/or heating tubes and runs. They often hold up to 140 ft3 on some models, offer electrical outlets, and lights. Completely unobstructed storage of this size is still unique to the industry today.
Another perk of RVing with the toy hauler is the ramp door can double as a patio deck. Heartland saw the potential in this feature and was one of the first manufacturers to double your pleasure and offer side patios on some toy hauler floorplans. Just step right out of your kitchen or living room and sip your morning coffee while taking in beautiful views.
Heartland entered the toy hauler market in 2005 and quickly rose to the top by incorporating best-selling features from our fifth wheel products and making garage spaces extremely versatile. While our garages can accommodate most motorcycles and side-by-sides, they can just as easily accommodate a home office, a mobile workshop, a mud room, or a spare room for kids or guests.
Whether you're starting with one of our stick-and-tin campers or going all the way up to our luxurious laminated travel trailers, all of our bumper pull RVs are full featured. Generous slideouts and tall ceilings provide spacious living areas. Kitchens are fully outfitted with stovetops, refrigerators, and microwaves. Many floorplans feature modern amenities like electric fireplaces, numerous USB charging ports, and interconnected entertainment systems. A Heartland travel trailer is truly a home away from home.
While we spared no expense to make our RVs look and feel as luxurious as possible, we also make affordability a top priority. Whether you're ready to hit the road full-time in one of our big fifth wheels or you're starting with your first travel trailer, cost shouldn't prevent you from realizing your RV dream.
