15 New Heartland RV Bunkhouse Models to Shop In 2024
Some of the most popular RV floor plans are the ones that contain a bunkhouse. Kids love them, parents love them, and guests love them. Bunkhouses make sense if you’re traveling with groups of people because everyone gets a little more privacy and space than when they’re on a pull-out couch. We’ve released 15 bunkhouse models this year across all Heartland RVs, from ultra-lite travel trailers to deluxe toy haulers.
No matter how many people you need to sleep, no matter what your budget is, we’ve got beautiful new options that will suit your needs. So, if you’re looking to research Heartland RV models at a glance, take a look at our best bunkhouse models for 2024.
New Travel Trailer Bunkhouses for 2024
Travel Trailers with Bunkhouses
Kicking off with the Eddie Bauer 322BH, this model is 36’11” long and weighs 6,840 lbs. unloaded. It’s got room for up to eight guests in 290 sq. ft. of interior space, and its hitch weight of 700 lbs. makes it a great half-ton towable option. There’s room to sleep four people in the rear bunkhouse, which is separated from the living area with a door. In the bunkhouse, two twin-sized upper bunks can flip up during the day to create more room to move, and a sofa underneath extends into a 60” x 70” bed – as wide as a queen but slightly shorter. The bunkhouse also doubles as a storage area when it’s time to hit the road, with a generous storage door on the outside wall to let you easily load in kayaks, bikes, and more.
Another bunkhouse travel trailer RV is the Prowler Lynx 302BHX. It includes room to sleep eight guests in 275 sq. ft. of interior space and a length of 34’5”, and it has a hitch weight of 770 lbs. and a dry weight of 6,092 lbs. The bunkhouse holds four single bunks in a private room with a wardrobe and a cubby-style dresser. You’ll find TV prep above the dresser, which makes it a great place for kids to watch their own entertainment while the adults enjoy something else. A queen bed in the bedroom sleeps two people, and the jackknife sofa in the living area can accommodate two more.
Travel Trailers with Bunk Beds
For an even lighter half-ton towable model in our Eddie Bauer series, check out the 251BH. It weighs 4,580 lbs. dry with a hitch weight of 480 lbs. Measuring 29’6 ¼” long, it sleeps up to eight guests in 212 sq. feet. The layout features two double bunks in the back corner of the RV that are 50” x 74” each, giving you room to sleep up to four guests in their own snug, private space. A jackknife sofa lets you sleep two more people, and there’s a queen bedroom with plenty of storage for whoever has the honor of claiming it.
The 31-foot-long North Trail 27DBH sleeps eight guests in 256 sq. ft. With a hitch weight of 688 lbs., it’s another great choice for towing with a half-ton truck, and it clocks in at 6,376 lbs. before loading. This model also has a double bunk over a double bunk along the rear of the coach, just next to a bathroom that includes a second entry door. That means you’ll be able to access the bathroom quietly from outdoors, even after putting the kids to bed. In the primary bedroom, there’s a spacious king-sized bed, and the extra-long sofa in the living area also folds out to create a bed for two.
The Prowler Lynx 255BHX has a 630-lb. hitch weight and comes in at a spry 4,798 lbs. dry. It measures 29’5” long outside, 208 sq. ft. inside, and sleeps up to eight guests comfortably. This model has an open layout, with two double bunks built to maximize visibility and airflow. A jackknife sofa provides room to sleep two people, and there’s a queen bed in a walled bedroom for maximum privacy.
Travel Trailers with Flip-Up Bunkhouse Storage
If you’re someone who loves outdoor sports, you’ll love the North Trail 27BHG. It can sleep eight people in 264 sq. ft. of space and a length of 32’½”. It’s 6,202 lbs. dry with a 780-lb. hitch weight. The double-over-double bunks on this model not only sleep four people, but the space also converts to storage for oversized items. Flip up the bunks and you can access the rear storage door to load bulky sports equipment directly from the outdoors. There’s a king bed in the bedroom and the convertible sofa can sleep two more people.
Tiny Travel Trailers with Bunks
Looking for something a little more compact? The Prowler Lynx 17BHX is just under 21 feet long, but it sleeps up to six people in 142 sq. ft. Weighing 2,992 lbs. with a mere 362-lb. hitch weight, it’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants to travel light. There are two twin bunks tucked into the back corner and a queen bed at the front of the coach. The dinette also converts to a bed, letting you maximize every last inch of this floorplan. The Trail Runner 171BH has an identical floor plan but with a 386-lb. hitch weight and 3,016-lb. dry weight. Check out the specs for each model to see what features they have to offer, and then take your pick between these two small wonders.
New Fifth Wheel Bunkhouses for 2024
Fifth Wheels with Mid-Coach Bunkhouses
It’s been almost a year since we introduced the Heartland Corterra, and the Corterra 3.7 is a crowd favorite. At 41’9” long and 12,823 lbs. unloaded, it has 390 sq. ft. of space where you can make yourself comfortable. It can sleep eight guests between the king bedroom suite, a middle den, an overhead loft, and a fold-out sofa. The middle den holds a sofa that converts to a bed, and it includes an entertainment center so you can use it as a playroom or office during the day and a bedroom at night. Above the den, there’s a loft that’s accessible from the hallway, creating a perfect place for kids to hang out or sleep.
Fifth Wheels with Rear Bedroom Suites
Our Eddie Bauer series also comes in fifth-wheel models, and the Eddie Bauer Fifth Wheel 3600LF doesn’t disappoint. It comes in at 41’4” long and 387 sq. ft., with a weight of 12,238 before loading. With two separate private bedrooms and a loft, you can sleep up to eight campers. The rear bedroom suite includes its own half bathroom, which has a private entrance door so you can quietly come and go, day or night. The loft above the rear bedroom is a great place for a couple of kids to sleep and hang out.
New Toy Haulers with Bunkhouses for 2024
Toy Haulers with Open Concept Bunkhouse Layouts
The Torque 316 Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler is just over 36’ long and 336 sq. ft. inside, sleeping up to six guests. Along the back wall, there is an electric queen bed and a split bench that converts to a second queen bed. Coupled with a second entrance door and the rear patio space, this could be a deluxe suite for adult campers or a bedroom that converts to a playroom for kids. In the main bedroom, there’s a tilting king bed with direct access to a full bathroom, providing a sanctuary at the end of the day.
The Cyclone 3714 Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler is similar to the Cyclone 4008, coming in at a slightly smaller 42’10 ½” length and 429 sq. ft. of interior space. It includes a 14’ garage, a dry weight of 14,582 lbs., and a GVWR of 17,638 lbs., and it can sleep up to eight guests. The garage features an electric queen bed and split bench seat that converts to a second queen, as well as overhead loft space and a second entrance. Although Cyclone 3714 is a little smaller than the previous model, it does come with washer/dryer prep, and it has a set of stairs off the back patio for a third access point to the coach.
