Recipe of the Month for September, 2014

Chuck Wagon Beans 
List Of Ingredients
  • 1/2 Pound Bacon Slices
  • 3 Pounds Ground Beef
  • 3 Cups Finely Chopped Onions
  • 1 Cup Finely Chopped Celery
  • 2 Cubes Beef Boullion
  • 2/3 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1-1/2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1-1/2 Cups Ketchup
  • 3 Tablespoons Prepared Yellow Mustard
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Cans (29 ounces each) Molasses Style Baked Beans*

*Santha suggests Bush's Baked Beans with Molasses

Cooking Directions
  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Fry bacon until crisp.  Set bacon aside and drain grease from pan.
  3. Brown ground beef and add onion and celery and cook until onion is tender.
  4. Dissolve boullion in boiling water.
  5. Stir boullion and the rest of the ingredients into meat mixture.
  6. Cover and cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  7. Crumble bacon over the top of the beans.
